Is it required that the score is announced before a serve?

Question

I'm used to announce the full score 5 - 2 - 2 before I serve the ball. Some players either do not announce the score at all before they serve the ball or say some variation of the score, like,&nbsp;5 - 2 or in some cases, when their partner just missed the serve they omit the score altogether and just announce the server&nbsp;on 2.
